Length is great for swapping to a Bowden (remote) extruder where your existing cable may be long enough, or when moving your control board to the outside of an enclosure.
This has the standard JST stepper connector with 4 pins wired on the stepper end, and a 4-pin 2.54mm connector on the controller board end.
