T7Design's range of Engine Pre Heater systems are designed to warm Diesel & Petrol internal combustion engines prior to engine starting. The engines coolant is heated by the internal electrical heating element and is circulated by the integral water pump, this allows for a quicker warm up time compared to thermosyphon systems. Benefits of use include less engine wear, slightly lower fuel consumption (this is more noticeable if you do lots of short journeys) and ease of starting if you have a stubborn diesel engine!

Our rugged heater casings are made from cast aluminium for strength and low system weight. The internal heating element is encased within a finned aluminium casing, this is beneficial for two reasons: Firstly, the heating power of the element is evenly distributed over the larger surface area of the alloy block reducing the likely hood of steam bubbles forming, and secondly due to the reduced surface temperature there is a lower risk of Limescale build-up.

What's In The Box?


The Engine Pre Heater system is supplied as a bare bones unit only with accessories and fittings available to purchase seperately, no fitting kit is included as it doesn't make sense to raise the price to include any additional components if not everything is going to be useful to the end user.


Wiring Information:


The Engine Pre-Heater is supplied with a 1m long cable finished with a Euro style plug, it is recommended to remove this plug and wire the cable into an onboard waterproof junction box. This can then be extended to a bulkhead connector on the front bumper or connected into your existing wiring if you are simply replacing an old Pre-Heater system.
When wiring in your engine heater please consider the following:

       
  • Please ensure the vehicle body is suitably earthed - either through a waterproof junction box, or earthing the chassis to the body of the Pre Heater.

  • Use protective conduit over all 240v cables for cable protection.

  •  
  • Avoid running cables next to sharp objects, anything hot or areas subject to getting wet.

Installation Guide:



The most common way to install an Engine Pre-Heater is to connect it in series or parallel with the vehicle's heater circuit, your decision should be based on the type of heater valve installed in this circuit. Please see below:

Please note that this Engine Pre Heater must be used with high quality antifreeze to prevent corrosion & the coolant from freezing within the pre-heater.
