For sale is this authentic piece of antique Japanese Hansatsu paper money. This piece dates back to the Japanese Edo Period (which ran from 1603-1867AD). This particular piece is most likely from the late 1600’s or 1700’s. This form of federally issued currency was used throughout the end of the Edo Period. It was commonly printed in long narrow strips, and printed on both sides. The printing method was typically done with the wood block printing style (common in Japan during this time), and would frequently have a seal or stamp in a different color. This piece has plenty of blemishes form the years. Please study the photos carefully for a good view of condition. There are plenty of flaws and damage from the ages. Again Please study the photos carefully so that you will have a good idea of its exact condition. This is an incredible piece, and would make a great addition to any collection! Don’t pass it up!
